In recognition of this, TikTok has launched its first Visionary Voices Africa list to celebrate creators shaping Africa’s digital landscape. Among the honorees are Elsa Majimbo, whose candid humor resonates deeply with audiences, and Chad Jones, a South African dancer known for blending traditional and modern dance styles. Kenyan comedian Arap Uria gained fame for his sports impersonations, while Banele Ndaba’s relatable sketches have made him a household name. Other trailblazers include Iremide, who uses fashion to celebrate African culture; Burna Boy, whose Afrobeat sound has captivated global audiences; Hilda Baci, who set a new world record for the longest cooking marathon in 2023; and Popi Sibiya, a vlogger who is prominent in the travel community.
