Suspected Serial Killer of 42 Women Escapes Police Custody in Kenya

Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, a suspect accused of murdering 42 women, has escaped from police custody in Nairobi, Kenya. Khalusha, who allegedly confessed to the killings after dismembered bodies were found in the Kware area, escaped alongside 12 Eritrean nationals detained for illegal entry. The inmates cut through a cell wire mesh and scaled the perimeter wall early Tuesday morning. The breach was discovered when breakfast was taken to the cells. Authorities suspect insider involvement, leading to disciplinary action against eight officers, including area and station commanders. Meanwhile, Khalusha’s lawyer claims his client was tortured into confessing to the crimes and denies he is guilty. Prior to his escape, Khalusha was detained at the station after a court granted detectives seven more days to conclude their investigation before charging him.
