Togo National Museum
It is situated in Lomé, Togo’s capital. It was established in 1975 and houses ethnographic, cultural, and artistic exhibits. It is located near Independence Square in the Congress Palace. This fully air-conditioned museum is ideal for learning about Togolese culture. The display cases tell the local story while also displaying excellent examples of traditional art. There are beautiful painted maps, and old photos and drawings depict Togo’s history. Other exhibits include musical instruments, objects dating back thousands of years, clay pots, shell-decorated baskets, and calabashes used to preserve food and water.
