Despite years of negotiations, the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo remains trapped in conflict as peace deals continue to unravel. Other critical flaws include stalled commitments and the exclusion of key players like Uganda from the process. Furthermore, analysts argue that overlapping initiatives, poor implementation, and an overreliance on economic incentives have reduced peace efforts to short-term fixes. With over 7.8 million people displaced and nearly 28 million facing food insecurity, frustration is mounting.
