MultiChoice Deal Drives Canal+ Growth

Canal+ Group reported a 40% increase in first-half 2026 revenue to $4.8 billion, driven largely by its acquisition of MultiChoice, which expanded the broadcaster’s presence across Africa. The company said it has already achieved $136 million in integration synergies and remains on track to reach $284 million by year-end. Earnings before interest and taxes rose 68% to $492 million, while subscriptions in MultiChoice markets climbed 40%, with South Africa recording its strongest month for new subscribers in a decade during June. Canal+ credited investments in sports programming, entertainment, and African content for the growth. The company is also expanding its African film slate alongside major international productions and plans to launch operations in Belgium after securing exclusive UEFA club competition broadcasting rights.
