Mandla Mandela Reportedly Seized in Israeli Interception of Gaza Aid Flotilla

Mandla Mandela, the grandson of Nelson Mandela, has reportedly been detained by Israeli forces. The activist was aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla, a civilian-led mission carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, when it was intercepted in international waters. Organizers of the flotilla condemned the action, stating their vessels were ambushed and attacked with drones and water cannons before delegates were taken. In a pre-recorded message, Mandela declared the move an abduction and called upon the South African government to secure his release. The flotilla’s organizers described the interception as a breach of international law and an attempt to block relief for Palestinians. South Africa’s government echoed demands for restraint and emphasized the safety of its citizens aboard the vessel.
