Captain Fanplastic, the environmental education initiative by Soapbox South Africa, has launched in Equatorial Guinea through a new partnership with UNICEF. The program, which blends storytelling, creativity, and hands-on learning, will engage 1,500 children and train 40 youth facilitators across 20 centers to build green skills and environmental awareness. By empowering young people as “friendly pirates” for the planet, the project aims to spark community-driven climate action and sustainable practices. UNICEF sees the partnership as a model for scalable, youth-led climate solutions in developing regions. This collaboration marks a significant milestone as it expands the program’s reach to 13 countries.
