A delegation from Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo (SNPC), the Congolese national oil company, led by its Managing Director Mr. Maixent Raoul OMINGA, made a working visit to Astana, capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where they held discussions with Mr. Ashat KHASSENOV, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kazakhstan’s national oil and gas company, KMG (KazMunayGas).

The working session provided an opportunity for the two executives to exchange views on the latest developments and challenges facing their respective national companies in the development of their activities. The in-depth discussions between the two companies’ delegations explored prospects for cooperation in a number of strategic areas in the oil and gas sector, including international oil and gas trading, as well as training and human capital development.

Both parties expressed their satisfaction with the quality of their exchanges and the convergence of their strategic interests. “This visit was extremely productive and marks the beginning of a promising collaboration between SNPC and KazMunayGas. Together, we will open up new prospects for the sustainable development of our oil and gas sectors“, declared Mr. Maixent Raoul OMINGA at the end of the meeting.

Both parties agreed to set up dedicated working teams which will meet in the coming weeks, to finalize the details of an ambitious and mutually beneficial cooperation agreement. This agreement will aim to strengthen ties between KazMunayGas (KMG) and the SNPC Group, by promoting the exchange of know-how, commercial partnerships and joint initiatives for the sustainable development of their oil and gas activities.

It also shows that SNPC and KazMunayGas share a common vision of the importance of developing the hydrocarbon industry while respecting environmental standards and social responsibility. This partnership is part of a dynamic of international cooperation aimed at optimizing resources and promoting sustainable economic growth.
