Museums in Morocco

 
The Museum of Antiquities features a wide variety of objects and artifacts, including beautiful mosaics and bronze statues that were retrieved from Roman archaeological sites. The American Legation Museum has on display beautiful examples of art from the 17th century right through to present day. Forbes Museum is primarily dedicated to military battles of the past and includes an impressive collection of more than 115,000 lead model soldiers.
 
The Museum of Moroccan Arts displays a collection of unique artworks from many different cities and towns throughout Morocco. The city of Tetouan’s Archaeological Museum features a number of exhibits which are dedicated to the pre-historic and pre-Islamic period of Morocco’s history. The same city’s Ethnographic Museum has colorful exhibits that offer insight into the lives of Morocco’s people
 
Surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens, Dar Jamai Museum is housed in a 19th century home which belonged to the Jamai family. The Oudaias Museum in Rabat hosts a myriad of magnificent traditional Moroccan carpets, pottery, musical instruments, jewelry, ancient Korans and more. Rabat also has a Natural Science Museum which chronicles the origins of the earth and the creatures which have inhabited it over millions of years and an Archaeological Museum showcasing objects and artifacts dating back to the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods.
 
The Borj-Nord Museum in Fez provides insight into the military history of Morocco through a series of displays of weapons through the ages. Bert Flint Museum, located in Marrakech, focuses on the culture and way of life of the people of the Souss Valley and the Sahara. An impressive display of ancient music instruments, fabrics, textiles and theatrical costumes shows the role that entertainment has played throughout history. Safi’s National Ceramics Museum is home to a number of superb examples of Safiot pottery, as well as a multitude of other traditional pottery items.
