Along with being a momentous moment for U.S. and Africa relations, President Obama’s trip to Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania will also signify the first time a state visit by a U.S. president is documented on the photo sharing application Instagram.
The official White House account was launched this week and the administration chose to showcase a shot of the first family leaving for their three-country Africa trip on Marine One as their first picture.
And eventhough the White House is already on Vine that hasn’t stopped the administration from taking advantage of the new Instavideo feature by posting footage of the first family landing in Dakar Senegal.
The first lady’s account, @michelleobama, is also officially up and running. Although there are no photos uploaded yet, she already has a over a 1000 followers.
