Google released its 2016 Year In Review report that shows the most searched questions, topics and people for the year.
Across Africa, the 2016 U.S. elections, Brexit, the bombing of the St. Peter and St. Paul Churches in Cairo, the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and anti-government protests and clashes in Ethiopia’s Oromia region dominated Google search.
Popular people from Africa that were the most searched on Google include the late Nigerian footballer and coach Stephen Keshi, late renowned Arab poet Nizar Qabbani, late musician Papa Wemba and current South African president Jacob Zuma.
The 10 most searched questions on Google were quite interesting and spanned across business, fashion, entertainment, health and relationships.
