With the explosion in popularity of Afrobeats, the world has become far more attuned to African music, and greater notice is being paid to additional genres of African music. For the first half of 2024, African artists have continued to churn out new Afrobeats hits, but we also saw new Amapiano releases from South Africa, as well as a new subgenre called Afropiano, in which Afrobeats artists interweave Amapiano into their works.
