The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released a 10-man shortlist for Africa’s Footballer of the Year award. The list features two football titans: Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, fresh off a Champions League victory with Paris Saint-Germain, and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, who reclaimed the Premier League Golden Boot with Liverpool. They are joined by a talented field, including Senegal’s Iliman Ndiaye and Pape Matar Sarr, as well as Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen, the 2023 winner. Last year’s winner, Ademola Lookman, notably misses out. Beyond individual honors, Cape Verde earned historic nominations for both Coach and National Team of the Year after qualifying for their first-ever World Cup campaign. Meanwhile, CAF has yet to announce a date for the award ceremony.
