Leading African law firm, Bowmans, continues to expand its Africa-wide capacity with the appointment of corporate law specialist, Michael Strain, in its Tanzanian practice.

Strain is a dual-qualified corporate, M&A and private equity specialist. He trained and practised as a solicitor in the City of London for more than five years – before relocating to Tanzania 10 years ago.
He has advised on an array of high-value transactions across more than 15 African jurisdictions – with a particular focus on Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Uganda. Strain also brings an international perspective to the team having spent significant periods of time in the UK, India, Kenya and Tanzania during his career. He has extensive equity capital markets experience launching IPOs in the UK, Luxembourg and India as well as representing a variety of large international corporates and private equity firms on deals across Europe, the US and Asia.
Strain is admitted as both a Solicitor (England & Wales) and as an Advocate of the High Court in Tanzania.
