Welcome to the land of the Zulu! This experience is a perfect balance of exciting game viewing, sightseeing and activities, mixed with time to relax and enjoy the incredible natural environment that only this part of the world can offer. Make your way north into Zululand to your first lodge, set amongst beautiful natural bush. Visit a cheetah centre and see the fantastic work they are doing to preserve these highly endangered big cats. Learn about the culture and way of life in a traditional Zulu village, before setting off to Hluhluwe to start your African Safari. As you enter the park, drift back in time to a world untouched by man with scenic rolling hills, covered in thorn trees and grasslands. Expect to see a variety of wildlife, including rhino, buffalo, giraffe, antelopes and perhaps see an elephant, hyena or lion! Your specialised guide will explain the fauna and flora, and point out the colourful bird species (some 380) along the way. Spend two nights within the reserve and enjoy some delicious homemade South African cuisine prepared by your guide under the starry skies. Tell stories around the campfire surrounded by the sounds of night- a hyena giggle or lion’s roar- and feel yourself unwind as Africa grabs hold of your soul. After your safari experience, move across to iSimangaliso Park, a World Heritage Site because of its ecological importance and diversity. Home to the largest populations of hippo and Nile crocodile, the estuary also boasts prolific birdlife and a variety of other animals, including elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. With some of the highest vegetated sand dunes in the world, the park’s ocean is a protected marine reserve that offers superb diving and a safe haven for loggerhead and leatherback turtles to breed and lay eggs each year. The possibilities are endless in this wildlife playground! Spend two nights in the reserve with a chance to view game, take a boat cruise and other activities, with a bit of time to relax and enjoy the splendour of your surroundings. The idyllic sunsets will have you speechless as you put your feet up and soak up the exquisite nature and beauty of mighty Africa."
