If you happen to be in New York City next week, consider checking out this event: Dr. Muri Raifu and Busie Matsiko-Andan will host a soiree on Thursday, June 23, from 6-10 p.m. at the Sunroof Terrace, 217 East 96th Street, to raise funds for the Global Syndicate and its Haiti Project.
This is an opportunity for the diasporan African community, well-wishers, and friends of Africa to extend their love and continued support to the haitian community despite the diminished media attention and assistance that victims have received since the January 2010 earthquake, which left more than a million people homeless.
Proceeds will benefit the Global Syndicate and its Haiti Project. The Global Syndicate, a 501(c)(3) organization, is an expansive collection of friends and business associates located across the world with a shared vision and concerted passion to impact issues that plague humanity.
VIP Tickets are $150 per person and limited general tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased online.
