2012-06-21 12:49:59 WFP Mauritania Launches Blanket Feeding Programme [AlertNet] Nouakchott - Alongside other countries in the Sahel region, Mauritania is suffering  from a serious food and nutrition crisis that is particularly felt amongst the most vulnerable members of the population including young children. In response, WFP has launched blanket feeding activities for the first time in Mauritania in order to prevent acute malnutrition among children between 6 and 24 months.
