Museums in Gambia

 
 
The Gambia National Museum (http://www.ncac.gm/banjul.html), located in Banjul, was founded in 1982. It features primarily archaeological and historical exhibits. The Kachikally Museum in Bakau highlights the history of an associated crocodile pool which is hailed locally for its sacred qualities. Tanje Village Museum (http://www.tanjevillagemuseum.com), the first private museum in Gambia, models the structure and organization of Gambian homes in the early 20^th century.
