Positive Outlooks

Bloomberg, in an interview with Shantayanan Devarajan of the World Bank, reports that the economic outlook for sub-Saharan Africa is positive. Devarajan states that the economy is expected to expand by 5.1 percent this year.

Sustained Growth and Integration

The WEF released an announcement today by the co-chairs of the forum, encouraging African nations to make sure that growth is inclusive and represents both “existing and future challenges” on the continent. Business Day has a piece focusing on the statements of lead economist Jennifer Blanke, who states that while Africa’s shielding from global markets protected the continent from the brunt of the global recession, the time to begin integrating Africa’s markets with those of the world is now.

Global Talent Index 2011

Heidrick and Struggles, a global headhunting firm based in Chicago, has released its Global Talent Index for 2011. The study also offers predictions about global talent for 2015.
