Face2face Africa, a media company that is devoted to restoring Africa’s image within the global community, has done it again with the launch of its series of mixers, “I Am a Professional African.”
African professionals, friends of Africa, and leaders in our community all gathered at the famed Marquee club in New York City on Friday, July 29, for the inaugural edition of this series. (At left: Africa.com’s Yakubu Budu-Sakaa with Rita Kusi of Face2Face Africa)
According to Sandra Appiah, the chief operating officer of Face2face Africa, the mixer was designed with the goal of bringing those who believe in the potential of Africa together.
“Since the launch of Face2face Africa, we have realized that there are a lot of companies, organizations and individuals with the best interest of Africa at heart who want to pull resources together to help empower the continent. The only thing lacking is an effective platform where they can network and share ideas with others who also believe in the continent. F2FA created this mixer to provide that platform,” said Sandra Appiah.
Representatives of organizations had the opportunity to briefly talk about their initiatives and share information on ways people can get involved.
Macdella Cooper of the Macdella Cooper Foundation; actor, athlete, and model, Ngoli Okafor; former ambassador to Zambia, Isaiah Chabala; founder of the Network Journal, Aziz Adetimirin, and Deputy Director of Jewish Heart for Africa, Rachel Ishofsky, were some of the special guests of honor present at the event. Face2face Africa salutes all the special invited guests who came out to share their experiences and be a part of such a great initiative.
Face2face Africa would also like to thank all the sponsors: Arik Airlines, Rapid Solutions, the Madame Paulette Organization, Fleurimond Catering, Crush Groove Cosmetics, and Kemetic Mobile Day Spa, as well as our media partner, Africa.com.
The second edition of the networking mixer will be held in October. For more information on how to become a sponsor or to volunteer your services for the next edition, please contact Face2face Africa at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 888-505-1299.
