Duplex, Troas Street and Lokko Road

An old local favorite, Duplex relocated to a larger location in January 2012. Its earthy charm remains though. Go here to drink before you go clubbing, and chat up regulars, and Bob the owner, while you’re there. Be sure to also check out Duplex’s sister club, Twist, located behind Headlines Hospitality, #8, 5th Circular Road.

Rhapsody’s, Accra Mall, Tema Motorway

This South African franchise is alive and well in Accra. The bar serves up sports from around the world, a wild selection of beer, and tastefully plated dishes. While you’re there, check out the chicken Espetada, the house specialty that pairs sliced chicken thighs with spicy jalapenos and a sweet-chilli sauce, all on skewers.

Santoku Restaurant, Villaggio Vista

Opened just this past June, Santoku is Accra’s first high-end sushi restaurant. Its sleek, contemporary interior, designed by Hubert de Givenchy, is a mixture of Japanese and African art.

Movenpick Hotel Bar, Independence Avenue, Ridge

Movenpick is Accra’s 4.5 star hotel, and it hosts a swanky cocktail bar in its lounge. It converts into a crowded nightclub on the weekends.
