Rethink Africa: Rebranding in the broader interest

by Passport Health Passport Health, in conjunction with the Mid-Atlantic chapter of the Africa Travel Association, is showcasing the good things that Africa has to offer. We are working with organizations that promote business opportunities in African nations. Organizations such as the Maryland Sister State Program establish the connections that make business opportunities happen. On a local level, we are currently working with Maryland’s Department of Business and Economic Development, which promotes business in Maryland and encourages companies to do business in that state.

Passport Health prepares international travelers for their trips overseas. We provide country specific counseling and administer vaccines that may be required or recommended for their travel destination(s). We also provide anti-malaria medications, water purifying systems and wound care kits among other travel supplies. We partner with international travel insurance carriers and visa expeditors. By keeping our clients healthy during their business, leisure or mission trips to Africa, we can ensure that their objectives in the country will not fail on account of poor health. The money spent in Africa will stimulate African economies; new business partnerships can be created; and mission outreach projects will be more successful.

Hence Rethink Africa:

Rethink Africa has three main goals:
 Shift the paradigm and reshape the perception of Africa
 Expose business leaders to economic development opportunities on the continent
 Connect public and private sectors with business leaders and potential international travelers

By pursuing all of the above goals, we want to showcase Africa as a versatile continent that has endless opportunities and countless great destinations for business travelers as well as leisure travelers.

Rethink Africa on October 12th is the first of many events to come. We are planning to customize events to highlight specific African nations and thereby promote travel and business to those countries. On Tuesday, October 12th, from 6pm-9pm, join us at Loyola University in Baltimore. Tickets are $50 (see below for a 50% discount for friends of Africa.com). Learn more and register here.

These and other events which we will put together in conjunction with our partners, including the Africa Travel Association, are intended to make people “rethink” what they know about Africa. Rethink Africa features many companies that do business with and/or in Africa and also travel agencies that are offering trips to African countries, such as honeymoons in Africa or unique destination weddings.

Are you a business leader, leisure traveler, or Africa enthusiast? Come get together on October 12th!
