Last week, Africa.com and Cocody Productions teamed up to present the second AfroHop party, an event series created by Cocody Production's founder, Jake Bright. AfroHop features listening sessions of fabulous new African and Afrobeat music and opportunities for young African and African-Americans to mingle and meet!During the party, Africa.co
m celebrated the launch of Africa.comDEALS, our sister site that offers discount vouchers on uniquely African items. Our inaugural deal, for $99, offers a $500 voucher towards round-trip tickets from New York to Nigeria on Arik Air. Our CEO, Teresa Clarke, made the first official annoucement of the deal during the event, after the crowd warmed up to the sounds of "The New Music of the Brothers Kuti," a mix of songs created by Mr. Bright that featured the work of Femi and Seun Kuti, sons of Fela Kuti.Co-partners of the event included Heritage 1960, founded by the beautiful Enyinne Owunwanne, and the fellowship program, Princeton in Africa.
