Africa Fashion Week 2010

African models of both sexes will walk the runways on Thursday, July 15th and Friday, July 16th. General admission is $150 per runway show.  VIP tickets are $250.  All participants will be eligible for exciting give-aways throughout the event.  VIP participants will receive preferred seating and entry, gift bags valued at $700 of products and special offers, and complimentary hors d’oeurves and champagne at private VIP after-parties.

On Saturday, July 17th, there will be a trunk show and sample sale, which are  rare opportunities to purchase pieces from many of the featured designers, such as Charlene Amankwah and Darryl Jagga. Amankwah, who is originally from Ghana, creates dramatically glamorous clothes by infusing traditional African fabrics with garments from other parts of the world. Jagga is known for his passion for beautiful clothing that enhances the modern woman, embracing the principles of femininity, elegance and style.

The capstone of the week is a comprehensive workshop and panel for discussing the future of the fashion industry and the role of African designers in shaping that future. Further details regarding this event are TBA.
