(Editor’s note: Two weeks ago, we began a short series of posts reporting stories of refugees who left Mali after the beginning of a Tuareg rebellion. Today, we bring a small dose of good news from one of the refugees, Mohamed Ag Amano, who told us in his own words his own refugee experience.)

Even in the worst moments a newborn is a sign of hope, a moment of smiles and joy on the faces. We announce the birth of Mohamed Aly, son of a refugee in Nouakchott, born Tuesday, February 14th at 4 a.m. Long life!
