Yolaan Begbie

Yolaan Begbie is a proud South African journalist and her primary role is to manage the content team and produce original content. Yolaan joined Africa.com after completing her MA in International Politics at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in New York.

She has worked as an on-air reporter for eNCA, South Africa’s first 24-hour news service, where she covered a range of stories including high-profile court cases, the 2010 Fifa World Cup, and the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) peacekeeping missions in Burundi and the DRC.

Ms. Begbie holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Film and Media Studies from the University of Cape Town (UCT) and a Bachelor of Philosophy (BPhil) degree in Journalism from Stellenbosch University. She is a former CNN Journalism Fellow (CJF) and IACC Young Journalist.
