The slogan for Africa Business Conference MIT 2013

The Africa Business Conference MIT – Redefining Africa.

From mobile apps to new initiatives to increase access to Broadband Internet, Africa has experienced a lot of innovative successes in the last few years. Where better to celebrate this success than at the epicenter of innovation, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Boston, Massachusetts)? is a proud media partner of the third annual MIT Sloan Africa Business Conference, which takes place on March 16, 2013; its theme is Africa Innovate: Celebrating Successes and Addressing Challenges.

Tackling this theme will be the conference’s panelists, experts in the field of entrepreneurship, food and agriculture, finance, and media and entertainment.

Noted panelists include Runo Okiomah of the agricultural social enterprise Maa Bara, which is a past winner of MIT’s Innovation award, and Nivi Mukherjee of the eCommerce site eLimu.

Keynote speakers include the Vice President of the World Bank, Makhtar Diop, and CEO of Emerging Markets Telecommunications Services Ltd, Hakeem Belo-Osagie.

The conference also hosts the “Vision Talks,” a set of declarative speeches from Africa-focused entrepreneurs and business leaders, and the very successful Business Plan Competition. As is the tradition with MIT Sloan, attendants are encouraged to engage with the speakers, panelists and other participants on how Africa can move forward.

But before the panels begin on March 16, the conference will host the MIT Africa Investment Forum on the evening of March 15, which brings together some heavyweights of FDI in Africa.

We hope to see you at Africa Innovate: Celebrating Successes and Addressing Challenges.
